Around here we are having a rash of fake cops playing this. Several arrests have been made recently, and the state & county police are regularly making public safety announcements about it. Most of the problem is the fault of the cops IMO. Quit playing with unmarked cars and the like. We've got several hundred different police agencies in this state, all using different vehicles. We've got a state police force that likes to use impounded vehicles as unmarked cruisers. If cops drove cop cars and dressed like cops, there really wouldn't be a problem. But then, that gets into preventing crimes instead of generating tickets by trapping folks instead. That's a different tangent to get off onto.
