O.T. F 150 Trans.

Just had the auto transmission in my (new to me) 1995 F150 with a 300 motor and an E40D transmission flushed and filter changed - 88000 miles. There was no problem with the trans , just thought it was time to do a change. The shop said that transmission and engine was an unusual combination in that it is a fairly heavy-duty trans. Any comments on this combination or trans ??
