Mark, you dont have to be an accountant nor a rocket scientist to recognize "Double Talk". I"ve said it here on more than one occasion that reduced fuel consumption will in no way reduce the cost of traveling on the roads. States depend on fuel consumption for highway and road maintainance, so if Joe Citizen trades his "Gas Guzzling SUV" which circulated $40,000 back into the economy for a fuel efficient "Mini Cooper", which he can hardly squeeze into, he will soon find himself paying Mileage tax or in your state, "Wheel tax" to compensate the difference in tax revenue. Some states have already implemented such tax and others are soon to follow. What I object to, however is the SUV owner being double taxed. Gallonage, and Mileage. The politicrooks have it all figured out, and not in our favor. I wonder how much of the additional tax will really be used for highways. Probably the same percentage that was earmarked for levee maintainance in Louisiana but got diverted to the state politicians pet projects. Are there really people who think we need more government? Looks to me like we have more than enough already.

As most restorers, I have a number of war stories I can relate on a range of topics that may help other like minded and interested people. Perhaps my first p
