Northern Tool makes a 3 point that is reasonable in cost. I have made a few log splitters in the 70's and 80's. I found that you can buy one for the same price the individual parts cost, and the steel. I used their splitter on a MF 253, used quick disconnects to hook her in to the tractor hydraulics. The splitter has it's own valve. Don't get the auto stop valve, (auto detent????) if you are using quick disconnects, cuz the pressure to bypass the detent in the valve can blow the connectors apart.
