Could be a stuck valve, leaking piston rings, cracked cylinder, or a poorly adjusted control. Take the rt. side coverplate off and with the tractor running put the control lever in the lift position and look up at the cylinder to check for leaks. If you see a lot of fluid coming down from the cylinder your problem is either a leaking/worn set of rings or a cracked cylinder. Whatever you do, DO NOT PLACE YOUR HANDS OR ANYTHING ELSE INSIDE THE ACCESS HOLE WITH THE ENGINE RUNNING!
the control vlave resies on thepump and someone more knowledgeable than I will have to help you with that.
Do you have a shop manual? If not you ought to get one to help you get started on solving these kind of problems.
