I bought a 99 Jetta brand new and it was a comfortable car. Weight of mine was 3800 LBS.,gas 4 cyclinder, 30 mpg @ 65 mph. I made a lot of long trips in it and soon had 30k on it. I also had it to 135 mph to see what it would do. The later models are even better quality but 48-50 mpg on a diesel is normal. It is the only small car I can get into. LOL and have fun on your run.
