Ground Cable Size - 6V

I know from reading here an other references that those of us running 6 volt systems should be using a HEAVY cable from the battery into the system. But how about the ground strap, does it need to be matched to the other cable in size or dan it be lighter? I still like the flat, braided style of ground strap myself but they're getting hard to buy. Anyways, what about the size of a round ground cable for a 6 Volt system?
