Maybe there should be a separate "forum" to discuss economic issues such as gas prices etc. I wholeheartedly agree with you about the complaining about fuel prices. It's especially embarassing this particular week .... here we are complaining about fuel costs and there are countless individuals and families down south who have lost family members, friends, homes, and everything they have. I mean, those people have problems, not most of us here on computers today. And then to make matters worse, we start attaching blame be it the tree huggers, the oil companies, the government, the yuppies, the guys in Spandex shorts with fancy sunglasses, the rightwingers, the leftwingers, and everyone else except ourselves. Someone down below made a great post, the solution is to drive less, get a smaller car, maybe get one car (the insurance drop alone will pay for a lot of fuel), stay closer to home for holidays, stay home more, turn down the heat in the winter and the air conditioner off in the summer. Then to save some more money to buy high-priced gas, get rid of our cell phones, cable/satellite TV, special TV packages, plant a garden, eat meals at home, buy lower-priced brands of food, don't buy those name brand clothes for your kids (or yourself), etc. etc. etc. There are literally hundreds of way to cut back on expenses be they fuel related or just everyday living things. Have a good one in Texas.

Today's Featured Article - Third Brush Generators - by Chris Pratt. While I love straightening sheet metal, cleaning, and painting old tractors, I use every excuse to avoid working on the on the electrics. I find the whole process sheer mystery. I have picked up and attempted to read every auto and farm electrics book with no improvement in the situation. They all seem to start with a chapter entitled "Theory of Electricity". After a few paragraphs I usually close the book and go back to banging out dents. A good friend and I were recently discussing our tractor electrical systems when he stated "I figure it all comes back to applying Ohms Law". At this point ... [Read Article]
