Treeman, The power steering system is separate from the hydraulic system, unless I'm badly mistaken, so the hydraulic problem should not be related. It is possible to install the steel mesh hyd. filter wrong so that the o ring seals don't work, but I don't think that would cause air bubbles. Check hyd. return line for leaks letting air in. There are copper chrush washers in the hyd. system that can cause problems after they age. You need to look up a Long dealer and ask for advice on that. Some old Olivers and ACs (late 60s and 70s) had the same hyd system, might ask them). The control valve under the seat can cause problems. It is possible for the filter to become so dirty that you have to replace it instead of just cleaning it. Hope this helps. KEH
