Get the timing correct. There are some variations between the different model V-4 Wisconsins, more than I can remember anymore. Some used a distributor with an asymetrical cam... the distance between the lobe centers was not equal between all 4 lobes. If that happens to be what your engine needs, only that distributor will do, and there is one specific way to install the distributor and time it, so the asymetrical lobe is in correct relationship to the camshaft position. Even if your's isn't one of those engines, firing order and timing are CRITICAL. I suggest getting a factory manual that exactly corresponds to the engine model. Experts have posted that the older ones are better. You may be able to find one on ebay, if nothing else. Properly torque the headbolts, and retorque them after the engine has run.
