according to my manual i have a "transmission" or live pto. i believe it is a live pto as there is only one travel oin the pedal, i.e you do not press through one section into another type of pressure. when i try to engage a mower i press the clutch as indicated in the manual and pull the lever, the noise it creates is similar to grating gears in a car. i then let go of the lever for fear of bending the selector fork. thanks for your help so far Matt
