Deepending on your needs. A couple of Deep Cycle Optima batteries and a 2000W invertor is an option. Nice and quiet too.
The gasoline variable speed invertor types would be another choice.
Small diesels such as the Yanmar are outstanding but are noisy. The aircooled diesels have to be run well loaded. Or they run too cool and stick the rings and plug the ports with unburned fuel.
