We have a well-used 3.5 Briggs with the tank below the carburetor and it mixes gas with the oil. MY assumption, being tank is below carb and it is pumping only what fuel it needs to the main (and only) jet of the carb. is that the compression rings are worn and as it runs the fuel/air mix is being blown past the rings in to the crankcase,where the fuel condenses in the oil.
