On the Cub the carburetor hangs below the intake manifold. Fuel would have to flow up into the manifold, then up through the intake passages to even get to the valve guides, much less into a cylinder. Long before that happened the engine would be hopelessly flooded with no chance of firing due the rich mixture. The carburetor has a drain vent on the very bottom so that a stuck float or leaking needle would dump the fuel on the ground. It would help me for these other folks to explain how the gasoline can get into the crankcase on a CUB. Certain other tractors, sure. But this question is about a Cub.
