I call it the "small farm syndrome". A lot of people who move out of town are fast discovering that you can"t get much done on a 5 acre spot with a lawn mower / or yard tractor. The 600 series Fords would more than likely fit your needs. They won"t be 4x4 but you"ll pay a lot more than $3,000 for one of those compacts!!
Don"t knoiw your situation but the 4x4, while quite benefical at times, is really not needed unless you"ve got some some big pull behind equipment on your drawbar.
