mines like that , every year when we go for a while without rain and lots of heat, where there is lots of topsoil it stays green, where there is rock underneath it is brown,i first thought it was the water table dropping and where the rock was the ground wouldn,t hold any moisture, it may be that of that because of the rocky ground it heats up hotter than where the topsoil is, don,t know just guess, seems to come back in the spring though, and watering doesn,t help much.
