Great advice. I did replace the ring gear (the machinist did) when did rebuild. I'll take the starter back out and try to spin it. I tried to push the tractor (by hand) while in 4th gear, but can't get engine to spin. I also pulled the plugs and tried to spin with starter, but no engine turning. Have made sure it is out of gear. Once again, thanks for the replies. I had another on a different board saying to make sure the battery is truly good. I need to try that too. RT
