You say it turned over a couple of times. It may have siezed due to too little clearances, or it may have water or possibly even gasoline in the cylinders causing it to have a hydrostatic lock. Disconnect the wire from the switch to the coil and tape it up to prevent a fire while trying the next step. Take the spark plugs out and see what happens wehen you turn it over with a hand crank if possible. if you don't have a hand crank, then try the starter with the plugs out. If it is water, you have a cooling system leaking through something like a cracked head, or a sleeve, or a head gasket not sealing. If the cylinders are not filled, then you may have an issue with a bearing or something too tight. If this is the case, you may need to consult with the engine rebuilder. Just a thought, but be sure you aren't trying to crank it in gear.
