Well,I dont know. When I was trying to farm up there in NE we usually planted alfalfa in Aug. Altho one of the best stands we had was planted in June. One feller seeded his with oats in the spring. Claimed the alfalfa seed would lie dormant untill it warmed up. Dont the plant have to be a certain size(3 leaves)before the first frost? Hope you get some rain Allan so you can get the seat time you so desparatly need. steveormary
