Ludwig, Yeah, personal experience. Switched to mobile 1 in a Toyota truck with a lot of miles on it, 3 months later rear main was leaking so bad it soaked the clutch, same problem in a high mileage ford my wife had, in that one I used a seal conditioner and it stopped. It may be they've recognized the problem and gotten the additive package right to correct it now, those events were both 8 years or so ago, but it was a real problem IMO, and I think the reason why is the lack of light chains that react with the seal materials in typical engines. Could be that some seal types are better than others too.
