If you are talking about the weight, 15-40 is right on the mark for diesels in an average climate. If you are talking about the brand, shell rotella is one of the best brands out there. I found out that I can get it for 1.56 +- at sam's club per a quart when I buy it in gallon jugs. That is cheaper than the carquest oil we use now, so I am going to start getting that when we need more. It is supposed to have very good cleaning agents in it to help remove soot and junk from the engine to the filter. Hope this helps. Hurst
