Back in the 1950's, I knew an old timer who would taste a drop of oil off the dipstick to determine if his oil needed changing. I never tried that. (He also could stop a six cylinder engine by shorting out all the spark plugs with his fingers -- never tried that either. Are there guys like that still around?)
