I was in Baghdad for 7 months in 2003, it hits 130+ in August, nights it cools down to 105 - 110. I weighed myself without gear and then with, I was carrying around 60 pounds of body armor, helmet, weapons and ammo. I never thought it could get that hot in my life, it is just unreal. My national guard unit had 30+ purple hearts out of 150 folks, but somebody was watching over us as we didn"t have anybody killed. My prayers go out to anybody whos there and their families back home.
