Is the gas getting out of the carb?
Try squirting some in to the carb bore.

Points are a pain and hi maintainance
Set the points to spec and make sure clean with a white paper.

Does it have compression?
Roll over by hand and try to get a "feel" for it if you dont have a compression gauge.
"Feel" the compression of a known good one and compare the two.

I usually start with a new plug (also high maintainance part). Even if the old one looks good.
