I have a Deutz-Allis 5220 with the the same problem. The ball guides and a few of the ball berings were crushed along with the bottom ball bearing cage. All the ball bearings dropped to the bottom of the gear box. Have you found where you can get replacement parts, particularly the guides and nut rack, at a reasonable price. One source would sell the whole unit for $990, but did not have the separate parts for sale except for the bottom cage--$78.
