Howdy, What engine is in truck? I have seen the 4.3 liter engine be off as little as only 5 psi on it's fuel system pressure and the engine will not start and act as you describe. What year is the truck? The only true way to know about having fuel is using a pressure gauge. It's not just enough to have fuel, you must have enough, and the newer trucks are extremely picky. Will the truck start and run on carb cleaner? If so, the fuel pressure is very first place to look. I believe the pressure on the 4.3 vortec is 55-60 psi. If it is close, check the fuel filter. If pressure is still low, it is most likely the pump, and it's in the fuel tank. Granted, this info is only good if you have a newer truck and a multiport 4.3 liter engine. I hope it helps. Chris.
