Best way to stake trees?

hey I planted some trees and they are about 5 feet tall with a trunk about the size of a quarter...it is so windy here that I need to stake the trees. what is the best way to do this, i have seen where you put just 1 stake on an angle and somehow tie the trunk to it. i bought forty 4 foot pieces of electricc fence rods...plan to use them or some wooden stakes...how is the best way to attach these stakes to the trees?
