It's worth more than $.35/bale as fertilizer. I would expect at least $.50/bale and better yet $.60/bale. Good baler's can be bought very reasonable, but one must do some looking. I have not baled much, because similar to your circumstances, there are storage/marketing/ delivery concerns. If I could sale it for $2.00/bale loaded in the field, all would be sold. Since this doesn't happen, we bale a few for our own use, and plow the remainder down. If the neighbor will return the straw later as manure, then yes, I would sell it for $.35/bale.
