I have a new Cadet, and under the machint ehter is a lever on the control shaft that puches on a switch when you push the pedal to reverse. I drilled a small hole in the plastic pin of the switch and put a quick clip in it to keep the rlever from pushing it in,. works like a champ for me. dealer told me if it ever has to come in for repair, the switch has to work when he sends it out.
