Distributor

I have an IH distributor from a model B in my 48 WD. On the distributor, there is a plastic plate covering the points. First, how does this cover come off (without breaking it) and second, where can I get another cover (yep, I broke it). It is the cover that goes under the rotor button and covers the points. Any help woudl be greatly appreciated. Has anyone had experience converting these to the electronic ignition?
