Thats not a dumb question at all. Try and find the top end protectors with the gel in the padding with the low tension band, they are way more comfortable than the cheapies. The cheapies make my head hurt after a while. You may not be able to get good ones locally, mine were issued by the AF. Any shooting supply or industrial supply company will have a plethora of em. Check the net. Save them ears.
