For just downright durability and versatility and holding their value, considering all years, the Deere 4440 is the best tractor ever built. The 4020 was decent but over-rated. For the antique purists, fans of pre-1960, I'll put the Deere 70 up there. I'd given the honor to the Farmall M if it had any kind of decent hydraulics, a three-point and a live PTO. The best small tractor ever was the Massey 135. The Ford 5000 honorable mention in the 67 HP class.
