Note that the M started 1939 to middle 50s, JD 4020 and 4440 started 60s to 80s. For their times, they would be considered about the best. To compare a M to a 4440 is a bit unfair to the M- about like compareing a 1940 Ford F3 to a 1975 GMC/Chev C30. I have worked with M and 4440- 4440 is much nicer/newer but also much more $$. M can still do about 1/2 of 4440 for 1/10 the cost- still useful even if its 20 years older. Compare IHC M to JD A or 60 2 cylinder tractors- about same age. RN.
