I'm not sure if this is the same shifter we had in a 2-135 Series 3, but on that one the shift lever could come out of the guide slot if you weren't careful shifting. What I mean is the part that moves with the shift lever to change gears on the console. We would have to take a screwdriver or something to move that piece back in line so the slot for the shifter let the lever back in place, and then we had to go to the last gear we were in and shift normally from there.

I know this is probably as clear as mud, but I bet the shift lever is out of position with that part that it moves to change gears.
