Had a refrigeration guy in to add R-22 refrigerant to a cooling system. We were trying to bridge to the day we would change a leaking milk cooler(following week). He was asked to add gas only. The man was in a somewhat altered state, and thought he was going to save our butts all on his own. (My regular refr. man was unable to come and suggested this guy, as he just lives up the road.) Well, this guy proceeds to short out the cooling system, fried a relay and smoked some wires. Four hours later, with the help of an electrician, who had to come back the next day to replace the burnt items, we were jury rigged and running. The refr. guy that caused the trouble, said he was paying the electrician's bill. He showed up today with a bill for time he spent repairing his mistake, plus the electrician's bill. All told, $750.00, Tax included. Would you pay? for a tradesman's mistake, or fight? Thanks for any comments.
