The main clutch (foot) on our 175 is a button clutch, which means it will grab. Have always used the hand clutch to stop/start. Hand clutch is an oil bath clutch and designed to be slipped. Foot clutch does NOT smoothly engage, it just engages. Extreaamlly handy tractor, brakes are the weakest point and they simply suck, extreamlly hard to work on. But I would still like to have a nice 175 for myself (only tractor Dad ever bought new).
