Watch for signs laying out the "ground rules" for who has to stop at scales, especially when you first enter a state ("Welcome to Kansas, The Prairie Dog State." "Seatbelts required- $101 fine" "Trucks over 16,000 GVW stop at scales". "Meth-heads and hippies just keep on a goin'".)
