Who ever coined the phrase "Cheap as dirt" hasn't bought any lately.... What I'm familiar with is "delivered to jobsite". In that case, you pay more for the trucking than the dirt in all likelyhood. Last fall, I had 4 loads hauled for a grading job I was doing. I paid $390 a tri-axle load for good (not great) topsoil delivered. (That's about 23 to 25 tons) That seems to be "the going rate" around here.
