How's the market for old tractors?

Apologies if this is wrong forum, but I"d appreciate a little
bit of your experience... How easy is it to sell an old,
running tractor these days? JD 40S, bent sheetmetal,
alternator doesn"t work, exhaust broken, skipping engine,
first gear almost impossible to use ... but it works! I guess
my question is, is it a buyer"s or seller"s market? If you
needed to sell such a tractor quickly, what could you expect
to get?

I"m trying to figure out whether to make an offer on such a
machine from our landlord: we sometimes use it, and he
wants to avoid liability issues. We"ve been maintaining it
for a while, which is fun, but we don"t really have a bunch
of cash to throw at it.
