hauling a 55 combine...

Hey there fellow tractor nuts,
I am interested in buying a 55 JD Combine. I am curious if yall know what it would take to get it to TX. I have an owners manual and it says that it can be transported at 8' 6" and is about 12' 6" tall. I am wondering if you can take the tires off and lower it some and if you need a permit for something that big. About 10000#. If you own one of these how hard is it to make them shorter and are they good combines. If anyone is in the hauling business what would it take($) to get it to central TX, 77840? If you've got one for sell email me too. I want it for a future hobby farm and museum. Thanks Caleb in TX
