I'm thinking that anyone careful enough to record the serial number in the manual would be careful enough to send the manual with the tractor when he sold it. I'm guessing the tractor with that serial number went to the boneyard years ago and that's why the manual became available for sale.

I suppose it's possible that some dealer trying to maximize profit would take in a tractor with manual and then sell them separately.
