Ford 600 (660) hydraulic question(s)

Can anyone tell me how to hook up an accessory cylinder? I want to run a woodsplitter using my tractor hydrulics. There looks to be a output under the seat to the right, and a return to the left. When I hook these up to the open center valve on the woodsplitter, the three point hitch goes up and down erratically and the cylinder on the woodsplitter barely moves. It is a small cylinder made for a small woodspiltter so I expected it would move a little quicker than it does! What am I missing here? Thanks!
