Those "hard heads" could be valuable. When I lived in NY State I had a stone mason build us a fireplace using split rock. I found that if you study those smoth round boulders that they have a grain. If you hit them in the right spot with an eight pound sledge they will pop open revealing a beautiful crystaline surface. The ones I had varied from gray to pink on the inside. Then again I guess what made them valuable was the labor that went into the project. Ed
