What you suggest worked for me. Your pressure is really low; dangerously low. Been told that the min pressure is 10 psig/1000 rpm's to keep an engine lubed. Number is kinda low for me, but it's higher than what you're talking about. Once I learned of that number, I used it as a rule of thumb and went back to my old oil. But I have 15 psig hot idle now with it. Mark
