Working outside most of the time I do like Roy said and wear the tinted safety glasses for sunglasses the majority of the time. When I was younger I didn't always wear glasses when I should have, be they tinted or clear, and wound up had both eyes scratched at least once years ago because of it. Then it was no fun being patched up for a week plus for it to heal. Those instances were way back before I started wearing contacts, at which point I got alot more conscience about wearing the glasses because with the contacts the slightest little thing would cause terrible irritation and often pain, not to mention the eye damage a piece could possibly do if it somehow got under the lens and got drug around every time I blinked.
