Go to a New Holland dealer or their website and get an original repair manual. Depends on what transmission you have as to how much is involved. S. SL, and SLE models have different gearboxes. You must have an SL or SLE to have a F/R synchronizer, and I don't know if they offered the 56 as an SLE. I did an F/R synchro on an 8240SLE and don't know if that repair can be made with a front split only. The manual does not suggest that it can, and I was not going to experiment on my first time in one. I re-sealed all four clutchpacks and repalced most all of the "soft" parts in that one as it had 6000 hrs.
