Ever notice how people don't know what they have

I get a lot of phone calls about old tractors off and on, people wanting to sell me what they have. I find that most of them have no idea what type/model the tractor is. Happened to me again today, guy told me he had an Allis D-17 when I got there to look at it, it was a B which is ok with me since I buy as many as I can to keep them from being cit up for scrap. Have any of you ever run in to this??
