okay,..i checked the positive post lead to the distributor and it's correct. After a few shots of engine starting aerosol, she fired up and ran. It's the first time it's run in many years. I let it run for a bit while trying to adjust the fuel/air mixture on the carb. One problem, ..it's running full throttle and won't idle down. It has the original Tillotson carb. Also, i suspect the generator is wired backwards because one post started smoking and the generator got very hot. I killed the engine at this point. It has a Delco-Remey generator but i can't quite make out the markings. One post has what looks like an "A" stamped beside it and the other post has some sort of small figure stamped next to it which looks like an out-of-shape-triangle. Any insight on this, guys.?
