Years ago I was at a small town auction of the Chevrolet/Allis Chalmers dealer. Auction prices in the am were fair to good, but no one was on hand to serve lunch for the all day auction. They stopped the auction at noon for 1 hr to allow the bidders time to go uptown for lunch. A good number of them spent that hour at the local bars eating a microwave heated sandwich which they washed down with plenty liquid refreshment. The afternoon bidding was spirited with a few of the bidders laughing, giggling and acting strange while bidding on things they had a hard time focusing their eyes on. Many well worn shop items were bringing from 100-300% of new price. The old owner who looked serious and a little sad in the am,was grining from ear to ear in the pm portion of his sale. He had a good sale :)
