I have 100 acres also (Nebraska). I have an 8n to use for mowing, blading, etc. I also have an IH 460 to do loader, PHD, and other "heavier work". It all depends on what the 100 acres are - mine is mostly pasture and timber - what I need to plow the 8n does. I want to trade the 460 for something that is easier to get onto (bad knees, arthur) and was looking at a 3000 or 4000 series. I prefer a gasser (diesel messes with my siniuses), and around here, Gas $2.03 Diesel $2.35. Even in Summer, Diesel is usually more expensive locally.
